We finalize the embryo adoption in superior court this
morning. You can read more about how this works in this post.
I was a little nervous. I chose to file the paperwork myself
and serve as our attorney. I currently practice in the juvenile court where I
do deprivations (child protective services cases) and delinquency (crimes by
juveniles), so adoption work is a little outside my legal expertise. The judge
was so sweet and Leland was a doll. It was really a great experience. So we are
now even more official, with one more legal protection proclaiming us as Leland’s
parents. God is so good.
