Love of his life...

I get asked a lot about how Leland is doing since the birth of the girls or what he thinks of them. It's of course been a transition process with most of the growing pains one would expect. I have been so pleasantly surprised to see just how much he adores them.

He lives and breathes for them. The first stop in the morning is their room (he sneaks in and out if they are still sleeping). He loves to make them giggle and goes to great lengths to make it happen. Here is an outtake from our recent photos that catches Leland loving on Charlotte:

9 Month Stats

The girls had their 9 month well check yesterday. They did great and each got two shots.

Charlotte weighs exactly 12 pounds and is 25.2 inches long. Elizabeth weights 14 pounds, 1.5 ounces and is 25.6 inches long.

I am thankful for a pediatrician who describes them as "small but healthy" and who doesn't even hint at a need for supplementation.

One of the best things lately is watching the girls' inteteractions as they really begin to play together (primarily climbing over each other and snatching each other's toys).

On the development front Charlotte remains rather stationary, still not sitting (our physical therapy evaluation is set for next week). Elizabeth has gone from crawling to sitting and then just this week pulling up into a standing position. The standing started rather suddenly necessitating a list of additional baby proofing (lowering the crib, furniture wall straps, etc.)
